Chapter One: Creation
In the earliest pages of your history books there was one World, Kantana. A distant memory for some Cyphers, but to most of you, it is probably a very difficult concept to picture. For as everyone knows, today there are thousands of worlds, stretching across the universe to the deepest reaches of existence.
Seven centuries before the Phenomenon, the three Goddesses created Kantana. Giselle, the Goddess of Love and Prosperity, Evina, the Goddess of Wrath and Deception, and the youngest, Maribel, the Goddess of Faith and Nature, put their all knowing minds together to create a world of perfect balance. No one sister overpowered the others. The people of Kantana were born of the faith of Maribel and she brought them from her dreams into existance. The wrath of Evina gave them true feelings, for the love of Giselle meant nothing unless the people knew the value of it.
Kantana prospered. Artisans created, Scientists studied, Politics made laws, Markets flourished. The balance between the three Godesses kept everything in check. The knowledge of the people increased exponentially every day because of the faith Maribel instilled in them. The people did not by any stretch of the imagination have an easy life. They had to work for a living, and keep crime down, a side effect of Evina's wrath, but they were happy.
Back when Kantana was was at its peak, early in the 7th century after the three Goddesses created it, the people had already entered a period of great scientific learning. Each new discovery led to another. And eventually, the people's faith in the Goddesses began to wain. Maribel in her playful way was growing increasingly oblivious to Kantana. And though Giselle and Evina tried with every source they had, (Giselle with compassion, Evina with threats) Maribel was losing interest.
Thus, belief in the Goddesses started to fall out of popular science and the people started questioning their existence. What were they made up of if not the dreams of Maribel? The influence of Giselle and Evina began to waver as the people no longer acted on the wills of the Goddesses, and instead started following their own, realizing now that they had always had the choice. With the theory of the atom, came the theory of the atomic bomb. And with the checks and balances all off kilter because of Maribel's neglect, Evina's wrath was winning out in some parts of Kantana, creating vicious tribes of roving warriors. Giselle's love was lost on these beings of pure Wrath, though she had her own beings of love. Small towns were going overboard with the love and soon were blinded by pure and simple desire.
The few areas of the world still somewhat balanced were working tirelessly on the atomic bomb. (Which still shows a slight imbalance that has been explained as an overload of both love and wrath) At the end of the 7th century the two rogue emotions collided in the small town of Thine. A particularly nasty band of warriors layed seige on the city. In the ensuing battle, one of the atomic bombs that had been deemed faulty exploded. The blast shattered Kantana into thousands of pieces, creating the scattered worlds.

Chapter Two: Shattered
After the explosion, Maribel was alerted to the devastation her wandering mind had caused. The worlds and its inhabitants were stretched too vastly across the universe for the Goddesses to have an equal influence over them. Not to mention the fact that not all of the worlds were habitable. Most of them were too marred and toxic after the blast to harbor any life at all.
Three particularly large pieces of the Kantana had survived and could still support life. The Sisters decided to each reside over one. Maribel, the newly devoted Goddess of Faith and Nature, presided over the Gossamer Fields. Evina over the Catean Void, and Giselle, the eldest, over the Spatan Dynasty.
However, since only one Goddess presides over each hospitable environ, the Worlds are dominated by the urges and faults of their own diety.
New creatures and beings were created in the Phenomenon, and the last shred of contact between the three sister Goddesses was devoted to making sure each entity landed in the most appropriate realm.
In an attempt to recreate the balance of Kantana, each sister also created Two Demi-Gods of the domains of her missing sisters. Maribel created Mai and Devin, minor entities of Love and Destruction respectively. Evina created Alice and Aiden, entities of Faith and Love, and Giselle Created Takara and Bennett, of Wrath and Nature.
Today, the worlds are relatively stable, though they are still dominated by the Goddess who presides over them. The inhabitants of each world will never lose faith in their deities again. They have learned from their mistakes.

Cliff Notes Version
The three Goddesses Giselle, Evina and Maribel created Kantana. A world balanced between the three Sisters. Giselle, the goddess of Love and Prosperity was the eldest, Evina, the Goddess of Wrath and Deception was the middle sister, and Maribel, the Goddess of Faith and Nature, the youngest. The world of Kantana prospers, and in the 7th century A.C. (after creation) enters a period of great scientific learning. A bored Maribel loses interest in their creation and as her attentions wain, the faith of the people does too. Eventually the people lose faith and the balance is thrown off. Rogue Warriors ravage the lands and in a particularly vicsious battle an atomic bomb is accidentally detonated. Kantana is shattered into thousands of peices stretching across the universe. Three Worlds, The Gossamer Fields, Spatan Dynasty and the Catean Voids are able to support life and each Goddess resides over her own world. (Giselle over Spatan, Evina over Catean, and Maribel over Gossamer) Each world is severly imbalanced with the influence of only one Goddess and so each Goddess creates two Demi-Gods, in an attempt to restore equilibrium.
Maribel creates Mai (love) and Devin (destruction) Evina creates Alice (faith) and Aiden (prosperity) Giselle creates Takara (wrath) and Bennett (nature).
